PROOF OF DRINKING LIABLE TO HADD U/S 9:

Drinking liable to Hadd shall be proved in any one of the following forms.

(i). CONFESSION:

ملزم عدالت کے روبرو جُرم کا اقرار کر لے۔

The accused makes before a court of competent jurisdiction a confession of the commission of the offence.

(ii). BY EVIDENCE OF WITNESSES:

ملزم کے جُرم کے خلاف کم از کم دو گواھان گواہی کے ذریعے جُرم ثابت کردیں۔

Drinking may also be proved by the evidence of at least two witnesses.

(i). Requirements Regarding Witnesses:

گواہوں کے لیے مقررہ معیار۔

Witnesses must be male.
They must be Muslims.
They must be adults.
The court must be satisfied with them having regard to the requirements of tazkiya-al shahood, that they are

🠒 Abstain from major sins.
